Ben Dattner, Dattner Consulting

How we assign credit and blame to others, and how we react to it ourselves, is a critical determinant of our career success. Ample research proves that people who succumb to the temptation to be self-serving in taking credit and blaming others in the short term pay a high price over the long term. Cultivating self-awareness about your credit and blame style can help you build on your strengths while also addressing your areas for development.

On October 11, Ben Dattner will join ASTD NY members to discuss his book The Blame Game: How the Hidden Rules of Credit and Blame Determine Our Success or Failure and recent HBR article Can You Handle Failure? with particular insights for the Learning Community.  Also, he'll talk about the process of writing his book and article (co-authored with Bob Hogan of Hogan Assessments).

An exciting bonus – free assessment: Ben Dattner is offering members the opportunity to take the Credit Blame Type Assessment (CBTA) before the meeting so members can use their results to participate in an interactive peer coaching exercise at the event.
